Tianxinyan is the heart of Wuyi's zhengyan; the old spring of Yujing cuts through the rock — hence the name "flowing fragrance." Leaf from the core terroir: rock bone solid, floral scent passing through the liquor, the returning sweetness long and quiet. Within one cup, mountain, spring and scent each keep their place.
Floral scent through the liquor, clear and able to carry far; the clarity of the flowing scent shows one layer in the lid aroma, another in the liquor; the fragrance at the bottom of the cup distant and deep.

- Pour boiling water (100°C) from a height; first infusion 3–5 seconds, then lengthen each steep from the second on. Drain the gaiwan fully after every pour so the leaf never stews. Good tea holds many infusions — no need to rush.
