TASTING
Settled, dense and penetrating, with wild character and nectar-flower scent side by side.

Bitterness heavy, pure and quick to melt; after the bitter, the sweet; mouth-watering in a rush.
Average altitude about 1650 m, trees around 200 years old, April 2023 batch — two years aged. Lao Man'e at its core is heavy bitterness, strong energy, ample resonance and fast transformation: the aroma is settled and dense, unassuming yet penetrating, with a distinctive wild character and a faint nectar-flower scent. Bitterness is its soul — bitter as coptis on entry, but the bitterness is full, pure and clean-edged, a "living bitterness" rather than a dead one: once it melts away, strong and lasting returning sweetness and rapid mouth-watering follow, leaving the mouth and throat sweet and comfortable. The liquor is golden and bright, heavy and full with a pressing weight on the tongue; the cha qi is very strong, the bodily feeling unmistakable. Tea drinkers who dare the bitter teas all return to Lao Man'e in the end.
The aroma is settled and dense, unassuming yet penetrating; beneath the wild character hides a faint nectar-flower scent; a clean sweetness in the empty cup — a promise of the sweetness after the bitter.
Bitter as coptis on entry, but the bitterness is full, pure and clean-edged — a living bitterness, not a dead one; once it melts away, returning sweetness is strong and lasting, mouth-watering in a rush; the soup heavy with a pressing weight on the tongue, cha qi strong, the bodily feeling unmistakable.
