Landscape and city are not far apart.

For Mulan, Hangzhou means tea first.

A leaf grows out of the land.

Season, rain, temperature and the human hand make it, at last, a cup of tea.

Tea gives this city a distinctive sense of time.

Slow down.

Wait.

Judge.

Do the right thing at the right time.

But Hangzhou does not belong only to the past.

Glass, architecture, design, new commerce and new technology keep reshaping how life is lived in this city.

Old and new are not necessarily at odds here.

A cup of tea can come from a tradition long ago, and belong to today's table.

The East can have its own history, and a very contemporary expression.

This is also what MULAN TEA STORY® set out to do.

We respect where tea comes from, but we do not wish to make the East into nostalgia.

We treasure tradition, but we do not wish to copy the past.

We hope to begin in Hangzhou and re-express a cup of Eastern tea in the language of today.

So in the world of Mulan, you will see tea — and white porcelain, glass, architecture, figures, art and new experiences.

They look different, but they all begin in the same place:
